This is Dr. Leah Griswold. I want to share this event and organization that I have been involved with for many years. The event itself is well organized, lots of fun, has vendors, food trucks and has great donate and dash items (no need to bid or wait!). Operations Paws for Homes (OPH) is a 501(c)3 organization dedicated to saving lives of dogs of all breeds from high kill shelters. Since 2010, OPH has operated in Maryland, DC, Virginia and southern Pennsylvania consisting of a network of volunteers and foster homes. In 2023 OPH took in 1002 dogs and 127 cats and them were able to adopt 882 dogs and 99 cats, while the remainder were in transition or being fostered. Shelters continue to be overpopulated which, without rescue, leads to increases in euthanasia. Innocent animals are losing their lives through no fault of their own.
